As we get ready to celebrate the holidays with our family and friends, it is important that we take steps to keep ourselves and each other safe. The holidays give us a special opportunity for spending time and making memories with our loved ones. The West Virginia Immunization Network encourages West Virginians to get their annual flu shot and a COVID-19 vaccine, if due, to help keep your holidays happy and healthy.
It takes about two weeks to build protection from vaccination, so now is a great time to get vaccinated, in order to build immunity before the holidays. The Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) recommends COVID-19 vaccines and annual flu shots for everyone 6 months and older.

Flu shots and COVID-19 vaccines are available at many health care providers’ offices, community health centers, local health departments, pharmacies, schools and college health centers.
