West Virginia Immunization Network

Faces of Vaccine-Preventable Diseases

The West Virginia Immunization Network urges you to understand the seriousness of vaccine-preventable diseases and to help raise awareness that vaccines are safe, effective, and necessary to protect our families and communities.

Last year, many families experienced the consequences of diseases that could’ve been prevented by vaccines: pain and suffering, missed work, amputations, death and loss of a loved one. Diseases like Meningitis, Whooping Cough, Chickenpox, Influenza and others are vaccine-preventable, yet families continue to experience these serious repercussions because of them.

The stories in this video are those of five families whose lives have been forever changed by vaccine-preventable diseases. Don’t let what happened to these families happen to yours. Get the facts about vaccine-preventable diseases today. Children, adolescents, and adults alike need vaccines. Click on the Immunizations tab to find out what immunizations are recommended for you and your loved ones.
