Take Your Best Shot: WV Adolescent Immunization Project
The application period is now closed.
Thank you for your interest in this project!
The WV Immunization Network is now accepting applications for its Take Your Best Shot (TYBS): Adolescent Immunization Project. The TYBS project is solely focused on improving HPV, meningococcal B, and influenza vaccination rates among adolescents 11-21 years of age.
The “Take Your Best Shot: WV Adolescent Immunization Project” (TYBS) was developed to address the problems associated with low vaccination rates among adolescents (11-21 years of age) West Virginia. Adolescent immunization rates for Tdap and meningococcal vaccines have reached over 90%; however, influenza and HPV, are still lagging far behind. TYBS will be strategically implemented statewide through the use of evidence-based strategies by health care providers, local health departments, and other partners throughout the state.
This grant cycle will provide an opportunity for up to 5 lead agencies in West Virginia, with a maximum of $3,000 for each funded project (pending availability of funding), to be included in TYBS in their effort to improve HPV, meningococcal B, and influenza vaccination rates among adolescents. (Note: projects must focus on all three of these vaccines. Projects may not focus on one vaccine only.)
Eligible lead agency applicants include public and private entities, such as local health departments, community health centers, hospitals, school-based health clinics, private clinics or other organizations.
Project Period: January 1, 2026 to December 31, 2026.
