SUMMARY:Webinar: Perinatal Immunizations: A Crucial Time for Health Promotion for Mom\, Baby\, and Beyond
DESCRIPTION:Description: This webinar will provide an overview of current perinatal immunization rates and effective strategies and opportunities to promote maternal and newborn health and well-being. The presenter will also review critical diseases that can be prevented through appropriate prenatal screening and immunizations that will protect mothers and infants during the perinatal period and beyond.\nClick here to view the archived webinar.\nPresenter: Andrea Lauffer\, M.D.\, FAAP\, FACP\nWebinar Materials:\nPresentation Slides: Perinatal Immunizations_DrLauffer \nObjectives:\n\nDescribe current perinatal immunization rates for expectant mothers and effective strategies for improving perinatal immunization rates;\nDiscuss the recommended perinatal immunizations offered to expectant mothers and understand the benefit of immunization and risks of these diseases to mother/baby during the perinatal period;\nDiscuss opportunities to promote immunizations to pregnant individuals who are found to be non-immune to certain vaccine-preventable diseases during prenatal screening;\nDescribe the hepatitis B immunization recommendation for infants; and\nDiscuss strategies and opportunities to educate patients and the public on the importance of immunizations prior to\, during\, and after the perinatal period.\n\nContinuing Education:\nAn application for 1.0 hour of continuing education for Nurses\, Pharmacists and Physicians has been approved for this event.
