Webinar: Perinatal Immunizations: A Crucial Time for Health Promotion for Mom, Baby, and Beyond

Description: This webinar will provide an overview of current perinatal immunization rates and effective strategies and opportunities to promote maternal and newborn health and well-being. The presenter will also review critical diseases that can be prevented through appropriate prenatal screening and immunizations that will protect mothers and infants during the perinatal period and beyond.

Objectives:

  1. Describe current perinatal immunization rates for expectant mothers and effective strategies for improving perinatal immunization rates;
  2. Discuss the recommended perinatal immunizations offered to expectant mothers and understand the benefit of immunization and risks of these diseases to mother/baby during the perinatal period;
  3. Discuss opportunities to promote immunizations to pregnant individuals who are found to be non-immune to certain vaccine-preventable diseases during prenatal screening;
  4. Describe the hepatitis B immunization recommendation for infants; and
  5. Discuss strategies and opportunities to educate patients and the public on the importance of immunizations prior to, during, and after the perinatal period.

Continuing Education:

An application for 1.0 hour of continuing education for Nurses, Pharmacists and Physicians has been approved for this event. CEUs will be available until December 12, 2024 for anyone who views the live or archive webinar AND completes the webinar evaluation.

CAMC Institute for Academic Medicine is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

Pharmacy – The CAMC Institute for Academic Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education.  To receive credit, participants must complete the sign-in sheet, attend each session and complete an evaluation. ACPE credits will be posted online to the CPE Monitor within six (6) weeks following the activity. This knowledge- based activity provides 1 contact hours (JA0006133-9999-24-060-L06-P)
