The presenter will also review critical diseases that can be prevented through appropriate prenatal screening and immunizations that will protect mothers and infants during the perinatal period and beyond.

Objectives:
- Describe current perinatal immunization rates for expectant mothers and effective strategies for improving perinatal immunization rates;
- Discuss the recommended perinatal immunizations offered to expectant mothers and understand the benefit of immunization and risks of these diseases to mother/baby during the perinatal period;
- Discuss opportunities to promote immunizations to pregnant individuals who are found to be non-immune to certain vaccine-preventable diseases during prenatal screening;
- Describe the hepatitis B immunization recommendation for infants; and
- Discuss strategies and opportunities to educate patients and the public on the importance of immunizations prior to, during, and after the perinatal period.
