This webinar session will discuss the importance of vaccines and why they are essential to continue during a pandemic. Communication strategies and best practices for providing immunizations will be explored.

OBJECTIVES:
By the end of this session, participants will be able to :
- Describe the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommendations for vaccine practices in a pandemic and always.
- Discuss communication strategies to inform the public about the importance and safety of vaccines.
- Develop an action plan to identify and encourage patients to obtain the recommended vaccines.

Dr. Lisa Costello is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at West Virginia University and a Pediatric Hospitalist at WVU Medicine Children’s Hospital. She currently serves as the president of the West Virginia Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics, treasurer of the West Virginia State Medical Association, Vice-Chair of WESPAC, Board of Directors for the WV Children’s Health Insurance Program and a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics Committee on State Government Affairs.
Dr. Mary Bailey is a board-certified pediatrician with Family Care. She has more than 13 years of clinical experience in an outpatient clinic.
